✨ Privacy-First Approach
KewR is designed with privacy at its core. We believe your data should stay YOUR data. That's why we don't collect, store, or transmit any of your personal data or QR code content to external servers.
Information We DON'T Collect
We take pride in what we don't do:
- No personal information - We don't collect your name, email, phone number, or any identifying information
- No QR code content - Your QR codes, text, URLs, WiFi passwords, and other data are never uploaded to our servers or stored anywhere except on your device
- No usage analytics - We don't track how you use the app
- No advertising data - We don't serve ads or collect advertising identifiers
- No location data - We don't access or collect your location
- No contact information - We don't access your contacts or calendar (even when creating calendar QR codes)
How KewR Works
KewR processes everything locally on your device:
- When you create a QR code, all generation and styling happens entirely on your iPhone
- QR codes are generated using standard iOS frameworks - no external services
- All QR code data is stored locally using Apple's secure storage mechanisms
- No internet connection is required to generate or view QR codes
Photo Library Access
KewR requests access to your Photo Library for one purpose only:
- Saving QR codes - To save your generated QR code images to your library when you tap "Download"
We never scan, upload, or access other photos in your library. We only save the QR codes you explicitly choose to download.
QR Code Types Supported
KewR supports generating QR codes for the following data types, all processed locally:
- URLs - Website links
- Text - Plain text messages
- Phone Numbers - Contact numbers (formatted as tel: links)
- Email - Email addresses with optional subject and body
- WiFi - Network credentials (SSID, password, encryption type)
- Calendar Events - Event details in vCalendar format
All of this information stays on your device. We never see or store any of this data on external servers.
In-App Purchases
KewR offers Premium and Supporter tiers through in-app purchases:
- All purchases are processed securely by Apple through the App Store
- We do not collect or store payment information
- Purchase history is managed by Apple and synced via your Apple ID
- We only receive confirmation that a purchase was made (no payment details)
Subscription Tiers:
- Free: 5 QR codes
- Premium: 50 QR codes
- Supporter: Unlimited QR codes + exclusive app icons
Data Storage
The only data stored on your device includes:
- QR code history - Names, types, images, and content of saved QR codes
- Purchase tier - Your current subscription level (Free, Premium, or Supporter)
- App settings - Selected app icon and preferences
- Purchase receipts - Managed by Apple's StoreKit framework
This data is stored locally using Apple's UserDefaults and secure storage mechanisms. It is never transmitted to external servers.
Cross-Device Sync
Purchase information syncs across your devices through Apple's infrastructure:
- Your purchase tier (Premium or Supporter) syncs via Apple ID
- This is handled entirely by Apple's StoreKit framework
- We do not create or manage user accounts
- Your QR code history does NOT sync between devices - it stays local to each device
Third-Party Services
KewR does not use any third-party services for:
- Analytics
- Advertising
- Crash reporting
- Data storage
- QR code generation
The only third-party service we use is Apple's StoreKit for processing in-app purchases, which is a required part of the iOS ecosystem.
Children's Privacy
KewR does not knowingly collect any information from children. The app is designed to be privacy-friendly for users of all ages. Since we don't collect any personal data, the app is safe for all users.
Security
We implement security best practices:
- All data is stored locally using Apple's secure storage mechanisms
- QR code generation uses standard iOS frameworks (CoreImage)
- No external network requests are made for QR code generation
- App icons are managed securely through iOS system APIs
Your Rights
Since we don't collect any personal data, there's nothing for us to delete, export, or modify. You have complete control:
- Delete the app to remove all local data
- Clear QR code history in the app's History view (swipe to delete individual codes)
- Restore purchases on any device signed into your Apple ID
- Download QR codes to your Photo Library for backup
Admin Mode
KewR includes a hidden admin mode for development and testing purposes:
- Admin mode is password-protected and only accessible to authorized users
- Admin mode allows changing subscription tiers and resetting storage locally
- No data is sent to external servers even in admin mode
- This feature is used solely for testing and does not collect any data

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted here with an updated "Last Updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
